BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- China's State Nuclear Power Technology Co., which was officially inaugurated Tuesday, is already close to concluding the talks with Westinghouse Electric Co. on introduction of the latter's third-generation nuclear power technologies, the Chinese company's president, Wang Binghua, revealed Tuesday.
An agreement is expected to be signed next month, Wang said.
The two companies signed a framework contract on March 1, which says Westinghouse will provide four third-generation pressurized water reactors: two for Sanmen City, east China's Zhejiang province, and two for Haiyang City in east China's Shandong province.
The State Nuclear Power Technology Co., co-funded by the State Council and four large state-owned enterprises including China National Nuclear Corporation, is in charge of developing China's third-generation nuclear power technologies.
