Vancomycin industrialization key technologies, developed by Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutial Industry, Xinchang Pharmaceutical Facctory and Shanghai Health-Creation Center for Biopharmaceutics R & D, recently won the first-class award of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Prise. This is the only first-class award awarded to pharmaceutail industry projcets in 45 first-class awards.
Main innovative points include: selecting out the mutant strain adapted to industrialization, building the innovative screening model, making strain's production capacity increase over 30 times; developing out key technologies of fermentation medium and fermentation technology adapted to domestic production， making innovation in technologies of basic cultivation and adding materials in midway; Innovating in key technologies of antibiotics separation, maiking the content of Vancomycin exceed 95%; Solving out the difficult technical problems of Vancomycin's instability and easy to be oxidized; Separating out and corroborating out molecule structures of main impurities existing in Vancomycin.
The project breaks through in the technology barrier that international markets set for China's drugs. Every technology indicators of the project have reached the international advanced level, according with The United States Pharmacopoeia (29th edition) and European Pharmacopoeia (5th edition), and some indicators exceed the export products.
