BAIDU.COM Inc, operator of China's most-used Internet search site, denied a report in London's Sunday Telegraph that the company plans to start operations in Europe.

Shawn Wang, Baidu's chief financial officer, will announce the company's expansion plans in London this month, the Telegraph reported, without citing sources. Baidu has no plans to enter the European market, Wei Fang, a spokesman at the Beijing-based company, said yesterday. Wang is meeting investors to provide updates on Baidu's business, he said.
