Zhu Xiaoliang, deputy director of Market Operation of Ministry of Commerce, says that the pork prices were unusually high in April and May and the price has now stabilized at a normal level.

Zhu told local media that the price is now remaining stable after the adjustment efforts by the State Council and local governments. The average retail price of thin pork was RMB20.93 per kg by June 10, decreasing 2.3% for the price at the end of May. The wholesale price of pork was RMB16.51, a decrease of 0.3% from the month before.

Zhu says the possibility of price increases is now slim. Although the price of pork rose a lot  a few days ago, the overall market was balanced and there was no need to worry.
