HUANENG Power International Inc (stock code: 600011), China's largest electricity producer, said it received government approval to build two more units at a cost of 4.5 billion yuan (US$588 million) at the Qinbei plant.

The company obtained the approval from the National Development and Reform Commission to construct two additional generation units of 600 megawatts each at the plant in Henan Province, the company said in a statement yesterday. Huaneng Power has a 60 percent stake in the plant, it said.
