CHINA'S pharmaceutical industry profits climbed 34 percent in the first half, according to the State Food and Drug Administration.
Profit climbed to 23.1 billion yuan (US$3.08 billion) from January to June over the same period last year, while sales revenue jumped 22 percent to 267.8 billion yuan, drug regulator spokeswoman Yan Jiangying told Bloomberg News yesterday in Tianjin. The agency estimates that the industry's total production value this year will reach 600 billion yuan, up as much as 18.5 percent over 2006.
