PetroChina Co has discovered 130 billion cubic meters of natural gas in northwestern China's Xinjiang Urumqi Autonomous Region, according to China News Services.
The No. 3 Dabei Well in Baicheng County has a daily output of 286,000 cubic meters of gas, said the report, citing the petroleum administration office in Akasu district.
PetroChina started drilling the well in November 2005. The field will supply fuel to China's eastern regions such as Shanghai through the West East Gas Pipeline.
