Jet fuel rise

CHINA raised jet fuel prices by 20 yuan (US$2.66) a ton this month because of rising oil costs, the Shanghai Securities News said yesterday, citing unidentified officials at China Eastern Airlines Corp.

China cut jet fuel prices four times this year, by a total 410 yuan a ton, said the newspaper, an affiliate of the state-run Xinhua news agency. Crude oil futures rose for the sixth straight day yesterday, closing at a record US$87.61 a barrel in New York.
