WEICHAI Power Co Ltd said it will issue a notice to China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co Ltd, one of its biggest rivals, for an alleged patent infringement.
Weichai said in its statement filed to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange yesterday that China National Heavy Duty Truck, also known as Sinotruk, uses several patents on diesel engine splitters that are owned by Weichai. It asked Sinotruk to stop using its patent and asked for compensation while retaining the right for further legal action, the statement added.
Sinotruk has received approval from the Hong Kong stock regulator for its initial public offering, according to Shanghai Securities News.
Sinotruk, China's third largest manufacturer of heavy duty trucks, plans to raise up to US$800 million through the IPO.
