MTR Corporation Limited, operates through its six segments: Hong Kong railway operations; Hong Kong station commercial activities; Hong Kong property rental and management; railway subsidiaries outside of Hong Kong; property developments, and all others. The Company operates a rail-based transportation system in Hong Kong, comprising Domestic and Cross-boundary services, a high-speed airport express railway and a light rail system. The entire system stretches 218.2 kilometers and has 84 stations and 68 stops. MTR Corporation Limited also provides intercity services to the Mainland of China, as well as a small bus operation in Hong Kong offering feeder services. During the year ended December 31, 2010, 38 new trades and brands were added to the Company鈥檚 Hong Kong network. The Company uses its railway assets and knowledge for additional businesses, including rental of station retail space, advertising in trains and stations, telecommunications, and rail consultancy.
