United Company RUSAL Plc is a producer of aluminum with a particular focus on the production and sale of primary aluminum. It has four segments: Aluminum, Alumina, Energy, Mining and Metals. The Aluminum segment is involved in the production and sale of primary aluminum and related products. The Alumina segment is involved in the mining and refining of bauxite into alumina and the sale of alumina. The Energy segment includes the subsidiaries and projects engaged in the mining and sale of coal, and the generation and transmission of electricity produced from various sources. Mining and Metals segment includes the equity investment in Norilsk Nickel, a nickel and palladium producer. Other operations include manufacturing of semi-finished products from primary aluminum for the transportation, packaging, building and construction, consumer goods and technology industries.
