Shangri-La Asia Limited is an investment holding company. The Company, together with its subsidiaries, owns and operates hotels and associated properties, and provides hotel management and related services. Its associates are engaged in leasing of office, commercial, residential and exhibition hall space and serviced apartments, as well as the ownership and operation of hotels. The Company operates in three segments: Hotel operation, Hotel management and Property rentals from investment properties. In February 2010, it acquired remaining 10% interest in Changchun Shangri-La Hotel Co., Ltd. and Jilin Province Kerry Real Estate Development Ltd. On November 22, 2010, the Company completed the acquisition of 100% interest in the 117-room Traders Hotel, Male, Maldives. In December 2010, the Company acquired six acres of government land facing the Galle Face green promenade. In January 2011, it acquired approximately 100 acres land in Hambantota.
