Mongolian Mining Corporation (MMC) is a Mongolian-owned mining company. MMC is engaged in the production, marketing and sales of coal in Mongolia. It is engaged in the open-pit mining of coking coal at its Ukhaa Khudag (UHG) deposit located within the Tavan Tolgoi coal formation in South Gobi, Mongolia. As of May 31, 2010, the Company鈥檚 UHG mine had 499.9 million tons and 286.0 million tons coal resources and proven and probable reserves, respectively. Its Mining License, MV-11952, covers an area of 2,960 hectares. As of May 31, 2010, all of MMC鈥檚 coking coal is transported by trucks to its customers in China. As of December 31, 2009, it produced 1.8 million tons of coking coal at the UHG mine. MMC鈥檚 coal is transported from its UHG deposit to Tsagaan Khad (TKH) using approximately 500 trucks. It owns 107 of these trucks. From TKH, a fleet of approximately 400 trucks owned and operated by MMC鈥檚 customers and contract trucking companies is used to transport its coal to Gashuun Sukhait.
