Starway Bio-technology Co., Ltdis principally engaged in the research, development, production and distribution of fresh edible mushrooms. The Company's products mainly include needle mushrooms, beech mushrooms and abalone mushrooms, among others. As of December 31, 2010, the Company had four edible mushroom production bases, which offered approximately 50 tons of fresh edible mushrooms per day. It distributes its products in domestic and overseas markets.

Starway Bio-technology Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred as Starway) is a modern agricultural enterprise specializing in edible fungus research and development, production and sales, and which ranks in the top ten within China’s edible fungus industry. Starway boasts four production bases -----Tangxia Base, Qingxi No.1 Base, Qingxi No.2 Base in Donguan and Qujiang Base in Shaoguan, three of these bases are already in use. With total assets of 200 million RMB and with daily fresh fungus output of 40 tons (updated as at June 30, 2010), Starway’s production scale is already amongst the highest in China.

Starway has always attached great importance to its R&D. Of its 19 applications for national patents, 7 applications have already been authorized. In 2005,Starway’s Cultivation of Export-oriented Pollution-free Edible Fungus (Pure White Needle Fungus)and Its Trial Project of High-tech Industry of Bionic Cultivation with High-efficiency were listed into State High-tech Industry Development Project by National Reform & Development Commission (NRDC).In 2007, Starway’s Key Technology Study of High-efficiency Mass Production of Quality Edible Fungus received the second prize of National Science Progress Award. In December, 2008, Starway was also recognized as a State High-tech Enterprise by Department of Science & Technology of Guangdong Province and three other departments.

Starway embarked on fungus industrialized production in the year 2000, making it one of the earliest industrialized enterprises in China’s edible fungus domain and one of the few edible fungus enterprises which has realized mass, standardized and annual production in China.
