July 29 – Yuexiu Property (0123.HK) announced in a filing that it will discontinue the use of the Guangzhou City Construction, Construction Property and Yuexiu Construction Property brand name it once used and will use the brand Yuexiu Property as a replacement for them, reports yicai.com. In addition to using a unified brand name, the Guangzhou-based firm will focus on developing high-end residential properties and operating commercial properties.
Yuexiu Property plans to mitigate “demographic limitations” and has accelerated expansion nationwide. Chief executive Chen Zhihong said the company will place greater emphasis on branding.
Chen is aiming for sales revenues of 20 billion yuan by 2015 with area under construction of seven million square meters by that point. In line with that goal, the company hopes to earn revenues of 10 billion yuan between this year and 2013.
For the first half of 2011, the firm recorded sales of three billion yuan and will launch nine projects in the second half. In 2010 it recorded 8.8 billion yuan in sales revenues.
