Advent Software, a provider of mission-critical applications to investment management organizations, has selected Dimension Data (News - Alert) China to design and build a new converged communications infrastructure that support both traditional on-premise and cloud-based software delivery models.

Officials with Dimension Data China said that the company would build a new converged architecture which will offer seamless wired and wireless connectivity and integrate traditional communication tools with new collaboration technologies from any location, using any device and accessing any application throughout the organization.

Company officials said that the team also developed a converged communications solution that allowed Advent Software's business to scale efficiently as the business grew.

Comprising Cisco (News  - Alert) IP Telephony solution, Hosted Voicemail and Advanced IP Telephony monitoring and reporting, the Converged Communications solution offered a number of benefits including reduced set up costs, increased flexibility and scalability, improved security and enhanced continuity of business services.

"Our customers demand solutions that are responsive and available 24x7. They also expect to get round-the-clock support because trading today is no longer a local opportunity. It is global and it never sleeps,” said Michael Calabrese, China Network/Telecom Manager, Advent Software (News  - Alert) Inc.

“We build our reputation by ensuring that our customers get the right technologies and relevant services without fail. To ensure this happens, we need an infrastructure that is built the way our business is run – highly available and extremely flexible," said Calabrese.

Company officials claimed that the new solution is expected to yield up to 20 percent reduction in travel expense.

"We invested the time to become fully familiar with the client's existing resources and future requirements," said Francis Yip, general manager, Dimension Data China.

"We needed to leverage the best of what they already had, integrate the benefits they were looking for and then ensure that the enhanced services were performing at optimum levels. This was a significant project in China, and demonstrated our capabilities in the software services industry," said Yip.

In related industry news, voice management company Tone Software (News - Alert) announced that its DYNA-STEP(TM) Dynamic STEPLIB and ISPF Library Management Solution 3.0 Release, a release that features new ISPF application to control allocations and concatenations, is immediately available.

The release also boasts the ability to simultaneously run multiple versions of identically named load modules in separate screens of an ISPF session, thus expediting the testing and roll out of upgrades and new z/OS applications, according to company officials.
