A framework agreement to build a new industrial park in northwest China's city of Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, was signed on Thursday during the first China-Eurasia Expo, which is currently being held in the city.
The Turkey Cooperation Industry Base, built through cooperation between Chinese and Turkish business partners, will be constructed in Urumqi's Economic and Technological Development Zone, according to Xue Jihai, deputy head of the managing committee of the zone.
The park will introduce Turkish businesses and products to China, involving textiles, apparel, food products and new and high technologies, according to Xue.
The park represents a great chance for Xinjiang to facilitate its export-oriented economy by introducing businesses from Turkey and other countries, Xue said.
