Victim of Typhoon Nanamadol number 560,000

More than 560,000 residents of Fujian province were victims of rainstorms and building collapses caused by the landing of Typhoon Nanmadol.

According to the data form the Office of Flood Control in Fujian province, more than 207,000 victims were transported out and no casualties have occurred as of 5 p.m. on Aug. 31.

Typhoon Nanmadol turned into a tropical storm over the West Pacific and strengthened into an ultra strong typhoon landing at Jinjiang city of Fujian province at 2:20 a.m. on Aug. 31, which resulted in on-going winds and storms in Fujian.

Due to the rainstorms, the high water mark reached 400 millimeters in the coastal areas of Fujian. Many flights were cancelled in Fuzhou and Macau airport.

Typhoon Nanmadol has weakened at present, and the early warning in the coastal area of Fujian was lifted, but rains continue. Losses from this disaster are still being verified right now.
