Novartis - Worst Performing Pharmaceutical

New York, September 6th (TradersHuddle.com) - The market ended the trading session lower with the S&P 500 losing 0.74%. Stocks of Pharmaceutical Companies also traded lower, with NYSE Drug index ending the trading session at 306.53, which represents -0.21% versus the previous tradings session close. The Drug index was mixed with 8 out of 15 components trading higher.

The sector's top performer today was Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) closing the trading session at $18.65 representing 1.03%. versus the previous trading session price action. Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company maker of Viagra and Lipitor, shares have defined support at $17.50 and resistance at $19.15.

JNJ (NYSE:JNJ) was also among the top performers, closing the trading session at $64.64 representing 0.89% from its previous close. JNJ, the consumer health care products company maker of Tylenol and Sudafed has calculated support and resistance levels at $59.08 and $66.23 respectively. The other top performer was Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY), which closed the trading session at $29.24 representing 0.79% from the previous trading session.

The sector's worst performer today was Novartis (NYSE:NVS) that closed the trading session at $55.94 or -2.37% from the previous close. Novartis, the Basel, Switzerland based pharmaceutical company shares have defined support at $52.09 and resistance at $59.25. Also among the worst performers was Teva (NASDAQ:TEVA), which closed the trading session at $39.36 representing -2.16% from the previous trading session.
