November 4 -- Natural botanical ingredients producer Guilin Layn Natural Ingredients (002166.SZ) and its wholly-controlled subsidiary, Layn USA, signed a long-term contract with Cargill to supply stevioside, a natural sweetener, reports yicai.com, citing a company filing.

Cargill appointed Layin Natural Ingredients as the sole supplier of stevioside, and will procure up to $5 million worth of stevioside in 2012, with procurement value rising to a maximum of $10 million the year after.

The agreement is valid till November 1, 2013.

The contract has a clause which states that Layn and its subsidiary will be prohibited from producing such goods for its own use, or for other third parties.

Layn had established its U.S. subsidiary in California, with a registered capital of $1 million.

According to the company, the contract will not have a huge impact on its 2011 performance.
