November 8 -- SAIC Motor (600104.SH) recorded a 10.99 percent year-on-year rise in auto sales in October to 343,400 units, while auto production increased 9.1 percent to 343,000 units, reports National Business Daily, citing a company filing.
Compared with September, auto sales fell 8.86 percent, while auto production declined 2.52 percent.
Shanghai Volkswagen and Shanghai General Motor, the two main subsidiaries of SAIC Motor, sold 100,400 units and 107,400 units in October, down 9.02 percent and 9.26 percent month-on-month, respectively.
During the first 10 months, auto sales rose 11.77 percent year-on-year to 3.323 million units, while auto production hit 3.23 million units, up 9.93 percent.
