November 10 -- Chinese automobile production in October dropped 1.99 percent month-on-month to 1.57 million units, while auto sales fell 7.37 percent to 1.52 million units, reports National Business Daily, citing the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Of the total, passenger vehicle production and sales dropped 1.04 percent and 7.48 percent month-on-month to 1.26 million units and 1.22 million units.
During the first 10 months, auto production and sales increased 2.66 percent and 3.15 percent year-on-year to 15.03 million and 15.16 million units, respectively.
During the same period, passenger vehicle production increased 5.97 percent to 11.75 million units, while passenger vehicle sales rose 5.86 percent to 11.76 million units.
Commercial vehicle production and sales dropped 7.65 percent and 5.25 percent year-on-year to 3.19 million and 3.4 million units, respectively.
Separately, CNHTC Jinan Truck (000951.SZ) posted a 25.73 percent drop in the production of heavy-duty trucks in the first 10 months, while sales of such trucks dropped 8.29 percent year-on-year to 85,144 units.
