ZTE Corporation (szse:000063) on November 15 announces that it has received a 2011 ODN (optical distribution network) distribution frame network-construction contract from China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. CHU(sehk:0762)(and shse:600050).

ZTE will provide ODN distribution frame products and solutions for 14 provinces, such as Guangdong and Shandong, according to the contract.

Meanwhile, ZTE has participants in China Unicom's ODN optical splitter- and active connector-related bids inviting activity.

The construction of ODN this time will become an important part in China Unicom's deployment of FTTx. China Unicom aims to construct high-speed FTTx network around China continuously.

It is said that ZTE has provided ODN network solutions for primary operators from tens of countries, such as Italy, Indonesia, Burma, Qatar, Vietnam and Thailand.
