Bangalore, Dec 05, 2011: Bangalore Nano 2011 promises to be a a platform for industry academia collaborations in nanotechnology. The organizers of the event said the thrust areas of the event would include nano medicine and biotechnology, advanced nano meterials, nano in energy and environment , nano electronics and microsystems. The conference is scheduled to take place on December 8-9.
Pre-conference tutorials have been organised on December 7 owing to popular demand which hope to offer in depth knowledge to post graduates and young researchers entering the field of nanotechnology.
This year the list of eminent speakers include people from varied backgrounds including Dr.E.W.Meijer, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, Dr. Timothy Fisher, USA, Dr Stuart S P Parkin, Director IBM, Almaden Research Centre,USA and many more.
Prof C N R Rao, chairman, Scientific Advisory Council to Prime Minister of India, and the head of Vision group of Nanotechnology, spoke about how this conference would allow the public to know about nanotechnology and help students develop an interest in it. He said,” Nanotechnology is set to be a trillion dollar manufacturing industry in the next 10 -15 years. Today's science is tomorrow's technology and hence we should encourage efforts which allow for industry academia collaborations such as this conference.
Other features of Bangalore Nano include Research Industry Collaboration Hub (RICH) which will allow startup companies to pitch for investments, India Nanotech innovation award and poster sessions.
