Gasgoo.com (Shanghai December 20) - Dongfeng Yueda Kia has already completed research and development work on a brand new own brand vehicle, auto.sohu.com reported joint venture General Manager Su Nanyong as saying. "[We are] currently in the process of applying for trademark and brand registration," Mr. Su said. He also added that R&D work on the JV's new pure electric model was also finished, with it currently in the testing phase.

Not long ago Dongfeng Yueda Kia's third factory was confirmed to be located in Yancheng, Jiangsu. Upon completion the site will boast an annual production capability of 300,000 vehicles, helping bring the JV's overall production capability to 730,000 vehicles per year. However, Mr. Su (pictured) said that the JV had not decided which of its factory would manufacture the new own brand vehicles.

Dongfeng Yueda Kia sold 387,000 vehicles since the start of the year, 28.6 percent greater than the amount sold in the first eleven months of 2011. The JV should have no problem in achieving its annual sales goal of 430,000 vehicles. Dongfeng Yueda Kia has once again managed to sustain annual sales growth of over 100,000 units.
