(Hong Kong, 15 December, 2011) VODone (RCode: 00082) announced that the mobile lottery platform strategically developed with Spreadtrum Communications (RCode: SPRD) is launched. Leveraging this cooperation, the client products of mobile lottery agent developed based on Spreadtrum Communications’ WRE platform targeted for feature phone will be introduced in the market in bulk.

Caishijie (彩视界), a subsidiary of VODone Limited is operating two lottery platforms, Diyicai (第一彩) and Zgzcw (中国足彩网), in order to provide a full range of lottery services in China. At the same time, the company made a lot of improvement in terms of mobile internet services – purchase lottery tickets service and lottery micro-blogging service have been wildly used by our customers. The cooperation with Spreadtrum brings around 300 million potential users per year and also greatly increases the VODone’s client products’ visibility.

The WRE, (Windows Runtime Environment, a dynamic loading platform) developed by Spreadtrum Communications, is the middleware especially designed for feature phones allowing users to dynamically load and update applications, as well as, offering users with “smartphone-like” experiences. VODone is making use of the WRE platform to launch a new kind of full-colour mobile phone client which can provide lottery information and allow customers to trade lottery online. This technology is launched continuous and released to be incorporated into the standard feature phones platforms as part of the corporation with Spreadtrum Communications

Spreadtrum Communications’ WRE platform that carries VODone’s client for lottery buyers has been under mass production. The sales of existing platforms with SC6800H chips are expected to grow continuously for the next few quarters. Spreadtrum Communications expects to produce other chips series in the first half of next year, realizing all chips loaded on WRE platform would reach an annual sales close to 300 million per year.
