Postal enterprises and large-scale express delivery firms generated sales revenue of 15.5 billion yuan in January, an increase of 12.2 percent from a year ago, reports spb.gov.cn, citing the China State Post Bureau.

Mail handled by such companies fell 13.5 percent year-on-year to 620 million, while the number of packages handled fell 23.7 percent to 5.49 million.

Delivery to international destinations accounted for 21.6 percent of the total sales recorded in January.
