Dai Renfei, GM for China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) payment subsidiary China Unicom Wo Yifu Network Technology, revealed recently that the operator is preparing to launch a "rapid payment" service allowing subscribers to connect their mobile numbers to ATM or credit card accounts to enable payment from their bank accounts using only their mobile phone numbers and a payment PIN. Wo Yifu's official microblog account features a notice seeking 500 users to test out its "rapid payment" service.
