Simon Leung, CEO of Microsoft's Greater China Region, has stepped down from his position, according to a statement from Microsoft Friday.
According to Microsoft, Leung's resignation was due to personal reasons. Ralph Haupter, who currently serves as the vice president of Microsoft Germany, will step into the position.
Industrial insiders see the frequent change of senior leadership at Microsoft Greater China as the core reason why the company has underperformed in the region. Currently, Microsoft's China operations account for only 1 percent of Microsoft's total worldwide revenue.
