Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 9) - Dongfeng Nissan held a ceremony in Beijing yesterday evening for the introduction of its Murano crossover to China, auto.qq.com reported today. The Murano carries a sticker price of 488,800 yuan ($76,609).
The Murano (pictured), which made its global debut in December 2002, is noticeably larger than Nissan's other models, with its total length of 4.86m far surpassing the manufacturers other SUVs and those from other companies, including the Toyota Highlander. The Murano is 1.89 meters wide, adding to its sporty appeal.
Nissan seems to have taken a page from Toyota with the Murano, offering a full assortment of accessories, including intelligent multimedia navigation system, multi-functional steering wheel controls, electronic stabilization system, one-button start functions, heated leather seats and others.
The Murano is powered by the VQ35DE V6 engine, which is based on the specification used in the Nissan Teana. The engine outputs 228 kw at 6000 rpm, makes 327 Nm of torque and is mated to a fuel-saving CVT transmission.
