China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) has announced its subscriber totals for February 2012.

China Unicom added 3.08 mln new mobile subscribers during the month, bringing its total to 205.97 mln. Of the new mobile subs added, approximately 250,000 were GSM subscribers, bringing China Unicom's total GSM user base to 160.07 mln, and 2.83 mln were WCDMA 3G subscribers, pushing the company's total WCDMA user base to 45.89 mln subscribers.

China Unicom lost 101,000 fixed-line subs, dropping its total to 92.41 mln, and added 780,000 new broadband accounts to reach 57.36 mln.
