April 16, 2012 – The opening ceremony of the triennial International Exhibition for Equipment and Techniques for Construction and Materials Industries (INTERMAT) is underway in the Villeurbanne Exhibition Center. As China’s largest construction machinery manufacturer and the sixth largest in the world, Sany will once again demonstrate its prominence at the event.
Intended to showcase the industry’s newest products and technologies, INTERMAT is one of the three major international construction machinery exhibitions. At the event, Sany is the largest Chinese exhibitor, with a 4,680 square meter booth in area E5-E018. The display features concrete machinery, road machinery, excavating machinery, hoisting machinery and pile driving machinery.
All equipment on display at the booth meets European and US demands for environmental friendliness and weight, and most of the products have received the CE and TUV Certificates necessary for sale in Europe. The concrete pumping products on display are developed and manufactured by Sany Germany, and some can even meet the Euro V emission standard.
As for Sany’s excavators on display, all have passed the Tier 4 Emission Allowance, and the 1.6-ton and 7.5-ton electric mini-excavators conform to the zero emission standard. The crawler crane and truck crane meet the Euro IIIB Stage Emission Standard for non-road-mobile machinery, also permitting them to be sold in Europe.
In China’s domestic market, Sany has participated in the construction of many symbolic buildings such as the Chinese National Stadium (“The Bird’s Nest”), the National Center for Performing Arts, the Shanghai World Financial Center and the International Commerce Center in Hong Kong. Additionally, the company has fielded equipment at major global projects such as “The Tallest Building in the World” - Burj Khalifa, “The Tallest Building in Europe” - Federation Tower in Russia, “The Tallest Building in Japan” - Abeno Center, “The Tallest Building in China” - Shanghai Tower, the Manhattan West Condos, Jirau Hydro Project in Brazil, Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia and the African Union Conference Center in Ethiopia.
Over the past several years, Sany Group has globalized in a firm and steady manner, establishing manufacturing bases in the US, Germany, India and Brazil. On January 21, 2012, Sany Group, together with China’s CITIC PE, acquired 100% of Putzmeister, the world’s leading concrete pump manufacturer. The acquisition makes Sany the undisputed global leader in concrete pumping equipment.
Since the announcement, the merger has remained a popular topic in the concrete industry, as both companies’ concrete pump trucks assisted in the on-site disaster-relief activities following the Japanese nuclear crisis last year.
