CNOOC Limited (HKG:0883) annouces that the company will, as the guarantor, through its unit CNOOC Finance, issue the 2022 Notes in an initial aggregate principal amount of US$1.5 billion at the rate of 3.875% per annum which will mature on 2 May 2022 and the 2042 Notes in an initial aggregate principal amount of US$500 million at the rate of 5% per annum which will mature on 2 May 2042.

The net proceeds from the issuance of the notes are estimated to be approximately US$1.987 billion. CNOOC Finance intends to advance the proceeds from the notes to CNOOC Limited for general corporate purposes.

Application has been made to the Hong Kong stock exchange for listing of, and permission to deal in, the notes by way of debt issue to professional investors only.
