Shanda Interactive's (Nasdaq:SNDA) game subsidiary Shanda Games (Nasdaq:GAME) plans to open one server to test a new version of its licensed 2D MMORPG Mir 3 ("Chuan Qi 3") on June 26, 17173.com reported June 21. Players need to have activation codes to log in and player data from the previous version will be deleted, said the report. The new version features new professions, a "factions" system and improved text messaging, and non-player character transfer systems, according to an earlier posting on the game's official site.
Shanda Games secured the license to operate the game in January 2010, before which the game was operated by CDC Corporation's (Nasdaq:CHINA) gaming unit CDC Games, 17173.com previously reported.
