CHINA'S liquid-crystal display manufacturing capacity may rise 35 percent in 2007 and increase by half in 2008 as new plants begin production.

The nation may "eventually" account for 20 percent to 30 percent of the global market for LCD-manufacturing equipment. More foreign and domestic companies are investing to build LCD-manufacturing facilities in China to take advantage of lower labor costs and tap rising demand for flat-panel TVs and computer monitors.
