Taiwan-based Kolin and US-based Syntax-Brillian, the collaborators behind the success of the Olevia-brand LCD TVs in the US, are gearing up efforts to develop the China market, with the brand already ranked number five in the 27-inch segment in China.
While teaming up with major retail chains in China, such as Gome and Yongle, the two companies have set up a joint venture in Hong Kong, and the new firm will establish branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing, with the aim of selling 150,000-200,000 LCD TVs during the high season, between October and March, in China.
