LIMA, Peru, Jul 30, 2011 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO) said late Friday that second-quarter net profit was $658 million compared with $313.4 million a year earlier.
The company said that net sales rose to $1.80 billion from $1.17 billion a year earlier.
Southern Copper operates mines, smelting and refining facilities in Mexico and Peru.
The company is 80% owned by Grupo Mexico. (GMEXICO.MX)
