Asia optical, a Taiwan-based maker of optical lenses and digital cameras, on august announced the strategic cooperation with Pioneer and Suning Appliance, one of the two largest retail chain of electric appliances and consume electronics in the China market, to undertake ODM production of selected digital home-use electric appliances for Pioneer, with such products to be specifically sold in the China market through Suning's chain.

Under the strategic cooperation, Suning will increase the number of the chain stores that sell pioneer products to thrice the current level in several years, Asia Optical indicated. The ODM production will be in China to reduce production costs, Asia optical pointed out.

Asia Optical on August 4 reported unaudited consolidated revenues of NT$2.02 billion (US$69.9 million) or July, rising by 4.1% on month but dropping by 18.3% on year. The January-July consolidated revenues of NT$13.12 billion slipped by 1.4% on year.
