According to Germany-based Bayer Group, it has laid down a latest investment plan for 2009 in China.
The plan will enable 1.8 billion euro of additional investment in Bayer's new synthetic material production project in Shanghai.
The investment will help increase the current production capacity to 900,000 tons per year. Located 50 kms from Shanghai in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, the Bayer plant mainly produces new synthetic poly-carbonate resin, a raw material that can be used for producing optic discs and is already used for making the roof of the 2008 Olympics facilities in Tianjin.
