July 21 – Lu Zhou Lao Jiao (000568) launched its “Guojiao 1573 spirit online sales platform” on July 19, reports Shanghai Securities News, citing a company filing. Two tons of high-end spirits will be sold through the online system, named after one of its premier brands, at a set price of 6,900 yuan per container. The company hopes to earn totaling 552 million yuan from the move to online sales.
Lu Zhou Lao Jiao, which is based in Luzhou city, Sichuan province, will sell 72,000 bottles of the liquor via privilege subscription. That figure accounts for 90 percent of total expected sales. Individual investors can purchase 20 to 4,000 bottles of Guojiao 1573 liquor.
Also, 8,000 bottles will be put up for sale via collective subscription, accounting for 10 percent of total sales volume, while each personal investor can buy one to 19 bottles.
Lu Zhou Lao Jiao posted a 22.89-percent year-on-year increase in 2010 sales revenue to 5.4 billion yuan, of which high-end spirit sales was 3.5 billion yuan, up 33.33 percent year-on-year.
