MediaTek has announced that Royal Philips Electronics has adopted one of its energy saving LED TV IC solutions series. MediaTek TV solutions support digital TV standards worldwide, the company said in a press release.

In addition, MediaTek has launched a new series of 3D, Internet/smart TV IC solutions. Worldwide shipments of those chips are estimated to have a significant increase in the third quarter of 2011.

Furthermore, the integration of advantages of Ralink Technology will allow MediaTek to offer even richer communication IC solutions for personal computer, Internet/smart TV, Blu-ray, game console, tablet PC and smartphone applications, the company said.
