Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) shipped a record high of small- and medium-size flat panels in August, an increase of 22% from July. August revenues totaled NT$5.17 billion (US$177.6 million), up 10% on month but down 22.2% on year.

Orders from the e-book reader, telematics, handset panel and touch sensor sectors contributed to shipment growth in August, said the company, adding that its order visibility has extended to October.

Shipments of large-size flat panels reached 1.19 million units, up 9.7% on month but down 42.2% on year, the company noted.

Additionally, the company has begun volume production of 10.1-inch FFS panels and will also begin shipping 7-inch FFS panels soon.
