Taiwan-based ODM maker Compal Electronics on September 13 reported consolidated revenues of NT$55.069 billion (US$1.90 billion) for August, dropping 1.58% on month and 16.5% on year, while January-August consolidated revenues of NT$444.14 billion declined 21.24% on year.

Compal shipped 3.2-3.3 million notebooks in August, increasing slightly. During January-August, Compal shipped 27.6-27.8 million notebooks. The company expects shipments of tablet PCs to increase, but no growth in shipment of notebooks in the second half of 2011.

Compal aims to ship 42 million notebooks, three million tablet PCs and 6.5 million LCD TVs in 2011.
