Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 15) - Lamborghini's presence in China is growing, with the sports car manufacturer's dealer network to grow to 20 dealers by the end of the year, auto.sina.com reported today. President and CEO of Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann made the announcement in an interview earlier this week, adding that the manufacturer will keep accelerating its pace of development in the country.

According to statistics, Lamborghini's global sales fell 14 percent last year, totaling only 1,302 units. However, the manufacturer's sales in China over doubled in that time period, becoming the manufacturer's second largest market. China is tipped to soon exceed the US to become the largest market for Lamborghini

Mr. Winkelmann (pictured) said that the age of Chinese buyers of luxury brand automobiles is relatively lower than in Europe and the US. When asked regarding Lamborghini's slow delivery times of 18 months, he said the timeline was worldwide and not limited to China.
