Taiwan received export orders with a total value of US$36.71 billion in August 2011, decreasing 2.34% on month but increasing 5.26% on year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on September 20.

IT/communication products and electronic products were the top two categories in terms of export order value in August, generating US$9.98 billion and US$8.57 billion, respectively.

The value for January-August stood at US$289.01 billion, rising 9.98% on year.
