In view of fast growing demand for flexible PCBs mainly due to smartphones, tablet PCs and touch panels, Taiwan-based Career Technology, Flexium Interconnect and Ichia Technologies will expand their production capacities, according to the companies.

Career has installed double-side roll-to-roll equipment at its factory's in Taiwan and Kunshan, eastern China, and will install more at its factory in Suzhou, to hike production capacity by 30%. Completion is slated for first-quarter 2012.

Flexium has fully utilized its existing FPCB capacity and will expand at its factory in Kunshan by 30%, with completion scheduled for the end of first-quarter 2012.

Ichia will expand its monthly FPCB production capacity to 120,000 square meters.
