Four Taiwan-based ODM makers shipped 16.749 million digital cameras in total during the third quarter of 2011, increasing 8.6% on quarter and 11.8% on year, according to data collected by Digitimes Research.
Ability Enterprise accounted for 41.52% of the total shipments, followed by Altek with 31.48%, Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) with 18.34% and Asia Optical with 8.66%. Among their clients, Nikon was the largest accounting for 21.74% of the total shipments, followed by Eastman Kodak with 15.91%, Fujifilm with 15.22%, Sony with 13.47%, Olympus with 8.79% and Samsung Electronics with 6.99%.
Of the shipments in the third quarter, 61% came with 14-megapixel resolution, 27% with 16-megapixel and 9% with 12-megapixel.
