Taiwan's eMemory increases cooperation with China foundry Grace Semiconductor

   Date:2011/10/18

Taiwan-based eMemory Technology, a provider of embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) IP, will increase cooperation with Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing, a foundry based in Shanghai, eastern China, to extend eNVM manufacturing technology from 0.18-micron OTO (one-time programmable) solutions currently to 0.13-micron OTP and 0.18-micron MTP (multi-time programmable) solutions, according to eMemory.

The company expects 0.13-micron OTP technology to pass reliability certification at the end of 2011 and 0.18-micron MTP technology in the first quarter of 2012, the company pointed out.

Grace Semiconductor and eMemory initially cooperated to offer 0.18-micron 3.3V and 5V OTP solutions in 2005. The further cooperation is to offer a relatively complete eNVM product mix to satisfy diverse demand, eMemory indicated.

eMemory has also cooperated with Taiwan-based foundry Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and DRAM maker Powerchip Technology for many years and is cooperating with Maxchip Electronics, a 8-inch wafer foundry, to develop 0.18-micron OTP solutions of eNVM mainly for use in micro-controller and speech ICs.
