NOKIA Oyj yesterday named Gustavo Eichelmann to run its operations in China from January 1, as it recovers from channel problems early this year.
Eichelmann, who joined the company in 2004, managed the Vodafone Group Plc account in the UK before joining the east Asian sales team, Nokia said in an e-mailed statement. Nokia's dominance in China, the world's largest wireless market, has eroded as prices have sunk on competition from smaller manufacturers making basic phones and low-end Android smartphones.
