Panel maker HannStar denies rumors that it has laid off 20% of staff at its module plant in Nanjing, China. HannStar indicated the employees are simply being transferred to another plant due to the transfer of production lines. HannStar continues to be optimistic about the small- to medium-size panel market.

HannStar said it plans to convert large-size panel production lines to small- and medium-size production lines at the Nanjing plant. Employees responsible for small- and medium-size panels were transferred to accommodate the change.
